Joomla! CMS Guide - An Introduction
When we build you a site we will normally install the very popular Joomla! Content Management System (CMS) wherever we can. The system is Open Source software so is free under the GNU/GPL license agreement.
If you are unfamiliar with computers then using a content management system can seem daunting, but we take our time and allow our customers to go at their own pace. At the end of the day we want our customers to become masters of their own content.
Publishing content couldn't be easier using Joomla!. Joomla! uses a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor and it looks just like Microsoft Word. You write your content in articles. Publishing and unpublishing articles really is as simple as clicking a button.
However, for those of us who work in the design or computer industry clicking a button and being confident its the right button is usually a matter of knowing most things are reversible. However, at Aquaman, we realise that most of our customers don't work in the computer industry, they work in anything but, so even a simple thing like clicking a button can become an anxious moment if you're not sure its the right button.
So our guide is designed not just for our customers, but for those out there all across the world who just want to have a step-by-step no tech speak guide to Joomla!.
The only thing this guide will assume is that Joomla! has already been installed on your system or that you just want to read about it before installing.

Having seen previous work by Aquaman Design, we decided to approach him to design our website.
When we first started we had no idea how to structure the look of the website - Aquaman Design gave us very good clear ideas how the pages should look and to the layout. |
