Silver Ridge Bed and Breakfast, Tansley
Silver Ridge Bed and Breakfast, is a local business based in Tansley, Matlock.
Up until Feb 2009, Silver Ridge had no website, but the business was listed on many tourist and travel sites.
The owners desparately wanted to get a website up and running to help promote the business. The site itself incorporates a Google Map. Visitors type in their own postcode and can then receive directions to Silver Ridge via the Google Maps utility.
As a result of already being listed on other relevant sites the site now enjoys over 650 hits a month.
DS-Swim
DS-swim is a provider of video training clinics for the sport of swimming.
DS-swim already had a site, but it needed updating and refreshing to coincide with the launch of a regeneration of the business.
The site has 4 main pages which will probably expand as the business grows. This site has a short video and is a good example of how a video can be added to your pages, adding impact to your campaign.
The site will need constant updates as new dates are announced
Transition Matlock
Transition Matlock is a community based organisation which formed in 2008.
They needed a website to communicate their message to their members and to general wider public. The site has a forum to allow its members to debate the latest issues.
The site is regularly updated with news items and events and to help this the site incorporates a calendar.
Updates are made using the Joomla! Content Management System (CMS). Chosen members have access to the CMS to make updates for particular sections of the site.
Stuart Marsh Sculptures
Local artist and sculpturist Stuart Marsh felt it was time to start promoting his business online and needed a web design company that would help him set up the webspace, buy a domain name and design a site. Aquaman was able to provide all of this.
Stuart was involved in the design every step of the way. A logo was created for the site, photos gathered of previous and new work.
A map has been added to help customers find Stuart's workshop.
The site still requires Stuart to write content, but this will come in time!
Du Cane Associates
Du Cane Associates is a business consultancy company. This is a relatively small site with just a few pages.
The client had ideas on how they wanted the site to be and asked Aquaman to interpret those ideas and come up with a solution.
Aquaman Design was asked to design the logo. Images are copyright free and were obtained from a stock photo provider.
As Du Cane Associates is a start up business, the project has also involved designing printed material including stationery, leaflets and a banner all incorporating the branding of the website.
Tansley Primary School
This site for Tansley Primary School is still to go fully live. It will eventually replace the current school website.
The aim for this site was to provide a site that can be maintained by the school itself instead of by a willing parent.
The site incorporates a calendar, a latest news article and a map. The site could also be used to send emails to registered users for example parents.
